What does an ML Engineer actually do once a model leaves the lab and meets the real world?
At DeepAlert, that means a lot more than training models.
It means investigating edge cases, reviewing deployment data, understanding why a site may be generating too much noise, and learning from the countless variables that come with real-world video analytics — lighting, camera placement, distance, scene complexity and more.
And then there are what our team calls the “heroic detections”: those moments when the model correctly identifies something in conditions so difficult that even the team has to take a second look.
