If you have an older iPad or iPhone. It’s time to update ASAP .

I didn’t want to post about this but since there are so many articles going around with vague titles to get you to click, here is the deal with the “iPhone software update before Sunday” or lose your internet thing.

Yes it’s true. But it only affects a tiny portion of Apple devices still in service like the iPhone 5, 4s and super old iPads. We’re talking devices from 2012 and older.

Not using one of these? You can just get on with your life.

Using one? Make sure your software is up to date. Check the chart below for the latest software version supported by your device.

To check, go to Settings > General > About and look where it says Software Version. If it matches the number in the chart, your device will still work Sunday.

If it says anything earlier, back out of that section and hit Software Update on the previous screen.

You have roughly 24 hours to do this, otherwise your device will self destruct.

That’s all there is too it. All other iPhone models are unaffected.
