Happy Africa Day!
Africa Day, celebrated on May 25th each year, marks the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963. The OAU, established by 32 African nations, aimed to promote unity, solidarity, and cooperation among African countries while advocating for the end of colonialism and apartheid. The day was originally known as African Freedom Day and was later renamed to Africa Day in 1964, symbolizing the continent's collective commitment to freedom, peace, and development. Today, Africa Day serves as a reminder of the continent’s ongoing journey toward unity and self-determination.
