His qualifications include a City and Guilds of London Institute Industrial Measurement and Control Certificate, with a Distinction Pass in Chemical Composition. He has been active in the repair and maintenance of industrial, analytical and medical equipment in Zimbabwe since 1976. His services also included the sales, training, calibration, servicing and repairs of all Lion Laboratory breathalyser equipment sold in Zimbabwe and has the full technical backing of Lion Laboratories UK. Lion Laboratories was formed in 1967, manufacturing their Alcolyser product for police screening use and in 1970 they set up a research unit at The Cardiff University to study the principles of breath alcohol physiology and analysis. In 1974, they produced the worldโs first breathalyser using the fuel cell that is used today by most breathalyser manufacturers. Lion Laboratories accreditations include CE, BSI, ISO9001, UKAS, ANAB and Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC. Lion Laboratoriesโ breathalysers have been used in Zimbabwe since approximately 1988.
