What do clients really want when they ask a Graphic Designer to produce a beautiful Logo or an eye-catching flier?

I have been a Professional Graphic Designer for 10 years, and during this period, I have worked with a number of reputable organisations and individuals. I have doubled as a designer and creative consultant in most cases, but I never really asked myself, ‘What do clients really want through my services?’
