There’s a lot happening in marketing right now. And if we’re being fair, it can feel like a lot to keep up with.

New platforms. New search behaviours. AI. Algorithms. Another thing you’re apparently meant to be doing.

Sometimes it helps to forget all of that for five minutes and look at your business the way someone discovering you for the first time would.

Can they find you?
Do they understand what you do?
Does it feel like you?
Would they know what to do next?

We’ve put together a few of the simple checks we find ourselves doing all the time.

Nothing revolutionary. Nothing complicated.

Just a good reminder that sometimes the most useful place to start is seeing what your customers see.

If we were running a healthcare business right now, these are three things I’d be paying attention to.

Not because social media is disappearing.

Because social is becoming part of something much bigger.

People are searching across Google, Instagram, YouTube and AI platforms, often moving between several of them before they ever contact a business.

So we’re looking beyond individual posts and asking better questions.

What are people actually searching for?
What content is helping a business get discovered?
Is your expertise clear online?
Are you showing up in enough of the right places?

For us, the opportunity is in connecting the dots between expertise, content, search and trust.

Less content for content’s sake.

More useful answers. More informed strategy. A stronger digital footprint.

Five minutes with Dina, and what a lovely five minutes it was. 🙂

We first came on board to support Harris Blake & Parsons as they approached an incredible 65 years in business, helping capture the history, people and stories behind such a significant milestone.

And, as they say, the rest is history.

What started as a strategy around a milestone has grown into a partnership we genuinely value. Plenty of great content, lots of laughs, and a team that always makes our content days a good one.

It was so lovely sitting down with Dina to reflect on the journey so far, what social has brought to the business, and some of the moments we've shared along the way.

A privilege to work with the entire Harris Blake & Parsons team and we’re looking forward to plenty more milestones, stories and laughs still to come. 💜

You can have an incredible reputation, decades of experience and a brilliant team and still be difficult for the next person to discover online.

And as the way people search changes, I think this is something more businesses need to be thinking about.

Your next patient might not search your practice name. They might Google their problem, search Instagram, ask AI, look for a specific service in their suburb, or move between all of them before making a decision.

So, where do you start?

A few things I’d be looking at right now:

* Stop creating social content only for followers. Build content around the services, problems, questions and locations you genuinely want to be discovered for.
* Get specific. Instead of another generic post, answer the real questions people ask.
* Build series, not random posts. Repeatedly covering an area of expertise helps create a much deeper body of useful content around your business.
* Make your people visible too. Expertise is more powerful when we can see and hear the humans behind it.
* Make sure your digital footprint agrees. Your social profiles, website and wider online presence should make it very clear who you are, where you are and what you specialise in.
* And get Google Search Console set up for your social accounts. This one is BIG.

Google has just rolled out new platform properties in Search Console, allowing businesses and creators to track how content from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X is being discovered through Google Search, including the actual search queries leading people to individual social posts, impressions and clicks.

This is why we keep saying social media isn’t just social media anymore.

It’s becoming part of a much bigger discovery ecosystem.

You’ve spent years building the reputation.

Now make sure the next person can find it.

Problems create searches.

A dog chews your glasses.
Your toddler snaps them in half.
You accidentally sit on them.

Those are the reasons someone searches.

But they’re not the reason someone chooses.

The real story is what happened after.

The frustration of not being able to see.
The panic of driving to work tomorrow.
The inconvenience of getting through the day.
The relief of finding someone who can help.

We spend a lot of time creating content that answers search queries.

What if we created content that answered the emotion behind the search instead?

Instead of:

“We repair and replace broken glasses.”

Try:

“Broken your glasses? We know today probably isn’t going to plan. Let’s get you seeing clearly again.”

Or instead of:

“Book an eye test today.”

Try:

“Can’t get through the day without your glasses? We keep emergency appointments available for moments just like this.”

That’s search psychology.

Because people don’t just search for solutions.

They search for reassurance.

Marketing is changing.

Human behaviour is changing even faster.

Over the past five years, we’ve helped independent healthcare practices grow their digital presence through content, strategy and social media.

Now we’re taking the next step.

Our focus is shifting from simply creating content to helping practices understand how people discover, trust and choose in an AI-first world.

That’s the future we’re building.

Working with health businesses, we’ve started to notice some consistent patterns.

The practices building momentum aren’t necessarily creating more content. They’re creating content with more intention.

They’re documenting expertise instead of trying to manufacture it.

They’re giving people a reason to trust the faces behind the business.

And they’re thinking beyond today’s engagement, considering how every piece of content contributes to their long-term visibility.

As social platforms evolve and search continues to change, we don’t think the biggest opportunity is chasing every new feature.

It’s building a digital presence that consistently demonstrates expertise, earns trust and answers the questions people are already asking.

Because visibility isn’t built in a day. It’s built one valuable piece of content at a time.
