AI is in almost every conversation right now.

But across the Australian market, the gap is widening between organisations talking about AI and those getting value from it. The difference usually isn't ambition - it's readiness.

A practical planning checklist:
✅ Use cases first: what manual effort or decision bottleneck are we removing?
✅ Data readiness: do we trust the underlying data enough to scale?
✅ Governance: who decides what’s acceptable, safe, and worth doing?
✅ Adoption: how will people actually use this in workflow (not just in demos)?
✅ Roadmap: what’s the first 30–60 days, and what gets deferred?

When those pieces are in place, AI stops being “a pilot” and starts becoming operational.

If you’re aiming to scale responsibly in FY27, we can help you identify 2–3 feasible use cases. Book in a FY27 Clarity Session to discuss: https://www.solentive.com/fy27-clarity-session

Using technology so you don’t have to.

❌ Not more tools.
❌ Not more dashboards.
❌ Not more complexity.

Just more space for the work that actually matters.

For NFPs, that can look like:
💜 More time on the ground
💜 More human connection
💜 More impact where it counts

That’s the part of the AI conversation worth focusing on.

There’s just something about chocolate cake on a Friday 🍫🍰

A few of the team took a break this afternoon to share a slice (or two) and chat about how we’re using AI every day at Solentive - and where we are pushing it further. Plenty of "aaaah, that's clever!" moments and ideas being swapped around.

A few others were noticeably absent (this Sydney weather has a lot to answer for 🤧🛌), but it’s a nice reminder that we’re always learning from each other and picking up new perspectives wherever we can.

If you’re deep in EOFY planning, here’s a simple FY27 readiness checklist we use to reduce mis-investment:

1️⃣ Outcome clarity: What measurable improvement are we aiming for?
2️⃣ Constraints: What’s the real capacity (time, skills, change tolerance)?
3️⃣ Foundations: Is data, governance, and security ready for what we want to do?
4️⃣ Ownership: Who owns adoption after delivery?
5️⃣ Sequencing: What must be true before we scale?
6️⃣ No-surprises plan: What risks are we naming upfront?

You don’t need a 60-page strategy deck. You need a clear view of what to do next - in the right order.

At a recent visit to The Smith Family, we were talking about reporting - something that’s often time-consuming, repetitive, and a bit painful.

With the right data setup, some of that work can be done in minutes instead of weeks.

But the bigger point isn’t speed.

It’s what people get back:
💜 Time to think properly
💜 Time to support their teams
💜 Time to focus on outcomes, not admin

That’s where the real value starts to show up.

Hello long weekend 👋

A little pause, (hopefully) a little sunshine, and a chance to switch off. Whether you’re taking a break or holding the fort elsewhere, we hope it’s a good one.

See you next week ☀️

AI might be getting most of the attention right now… but it’s not happening in isolation.

📊 A recent study shows the CEO's top priorities for IT leaders are:
1️⃣ Exploring and implementing AI
2️⃣ Strengthening security to reduce risk
3️⃣ Improving collaboration between IT and the business

What really stands out is how connected these are.
🟢 You can’t move forward with AI without strong data and security behind it.
🟢 Security doesn’t work in silos.
🟢 And collaboration is what actually turns all of this into something the business feels.

It’s less about ticking off three separate priorities… and more about bringing them together in a way that actually works.

That’s usually where things get tricky - but also where the biggest impact sits.

How are you seeing this play out in your organisation? If you're working through how to connect these pieces in a practical way, we’re always up for a conversation: https://www.solentive.com/contact

A lot of FY27 roadmaps will be signed off in the next few weeks. Here’s the uncomfortable truth: most tech value is lost after go-live.

Not because teams don’t care, but because the work wasn’t designed to land:
❌ Unclear ownership
❌ Inconsistent ways of working
❌ Governance left as an afterthought
❌ Change fatigue already present

The best FY27 plans treat adoption as a first-class requirement - not a line item at the bottom of the business case.

A practical test: Can you describe what will be different for your team on a normal Wednesday?

If not, the plan might be more “activity” than outcome.

If you want a quick sounding board, we’re offering FY27 Clarity Sessions to help teams connect priorities to real-world ex*****on (and name the risks early while there is still time to shape them)

Is AI going to take my job?

This came up in a recent session - and it’s something a lot of people are thinking about.

What we’re actually seeing is quite different.

AI isn’t replacing roles. It’s changing how work gets done.
The repetitive, manual tasks? They’re the first to go.

Which opens up space for more meaningful work - the stuff people actually want to spend time on.

The real shift isn’t job loss.
It’s how quickly we adapt.

If you're starting to rethink how work gets done in your team, you're not alone.
Sometimes it just starts with a conversation: https://www.solentive.com/contact

EOFY planning has a funny effect: it creates urgency and ambiguity at the same time.

Budgets get drafted, initiatives get named, and suddenly everyone is expected to “have a plan” - even when the real constraints haven’t been surfaced.

In our experience, the biggest risk isn’t picking the wrong technology… It’s committing to the right-sounding work without a clear view of: ownership, adoption, data readiness, governance, and delivery capacity.

A small amount of clarity now can prevent a year of rework later.

If you’re shaping FY27 priorities, a useful question is:
What will remove friction in day-to-day work - not just look good on a roadmap?
