BTS with Robbie at the end of a recording session, laying down the pronunciations that help Otto sound right for the venue.
Because no one wants:
🤖 a weird robot voice
🎤 a generic AI TED Talk narrator
🍕 or butchered menu items
Voice. Tone. Pronunciation.
Built for hospitality.

A lot of people expect AI on the phone to sound awkward.

Then they hear Otto handle a real order and go: …whoah.

Today Kayla is In this In the Booth with Otto, and her reaction says it all.
Natural. Fast. Surprisingly good.

Big phone orders are great.
Getting them wrong is not.
In the latest In the Booth with Otto, a customer places a large pizza order and then asks the question that really matters: whether the focaccia is gluten free.
Otto confirms the order and clearly explains that there is no gluten-free base on the menu, rather than making the wrong assumption.
That is the difference.
Clear answers, accurate ordering, and less confusion when the customer arrives.

What happens when a busy restaurant takes the phone off the team’s plate?

Matt from Lime Mexican explains it well.

For his venue, Otto helps handle takeaway orders, booking enquiries, and general customer questions so staff can stay focused on the guests already in the restaurant.

And one of the most interesting bits of feedback?

Customers often do not realise they are speaking to AI until the very end of the call.

What’s the catch?

That’s usually where the questions go once people realise Otto can handle the order and the payment too.

No reading card details out loud.
No unpaid orders cluttering up the kitchen.
No extra payment drama for the team.

Just a cleaner way to get the order through.

A lot happened inside this phone booth. 📞😂

Over a few days at Food & Hospitality Week Sydney, 100s of people stepped in, picked up the phone and started chatting with Otto.

Some conversations were impressive.
Some were unexpected.
Some were downright hilarious.

Somewhere, a takeaway customer is still trying to get that order through. 😂📞

We couldn't resist giving this classic Seinfeld scene the Otto treatment.

If you've ever ordered food over the phone, you probably felt this one in your soul.

When Mario stepped into the Otto Booth, he didn't hold back.
As a pizza chef from Napoli, he decided to test Otto in Italian.
The result?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"That's insane."
"It even spoke in my Neapolitan slang."

Otto is built to answer calls, take orders and help hospitality venues capture more revenue. But moments like this remind us that great technology should feel natural, not robotic.

Thanks for putting Otto to the test, Mario. 🍕📞

One of the easiest ways to lose a phone order?

Make it hard for the customer to get through the call.

Otto can support multiple languages, which means more callers can place their order successfully, fewer calls need to be transferred to staff, and the venue still gets the same structured ordering flow.

It is better for the customer, and a lot easier on the team.

📞 In the Booth with Otto

The order started with a pizza and garlic bread.

Then Otto asked if they'd like to add a Sprite.

That's when the eyebrows went up.

Most people expect Otto to take an order. They don't expect it to help grow one.
