Miner V Wild 2026 proved tough for these miners with temperatures reaching 37°C and long days on foot. But every hard moment was worth it to raise awareness and funds for young Western Australians facing mental health challenges far greater than anything experienced on the trek.

While the 2026 trek is over, the fundraising still continues. Donations remain open until 31 August, and the group has already raised more than $150,000. You've still got a few days to help push this incredible crew past their goal and support the important work being done for Youth Focus.

2 in 5 young Australians are living with a mental health challenge you can't always see.

These aren't just statistics; they're kids in our schools, our sports clubs, our neighbourhoods; kids in our own families. The ones we coach, the ones we sit next to at Sunday lunch, the ones we assume are fine because they never say otherwise.

Last year, supported 3,546 young people in their own communities, at no cost, and without needing a referral.

LiveMine founder, Bud O'Shannessy, is heading out for Miner v Wild this year to raise funds to keep that door open for the next young person who needs it. Every dollar helps Youth Focus provide counselling for young people right across WA, in the city and in the bush.

Miner V Wild 2026 🐊

Next month, LiveMine founder Bud will join a group of mining leaders for Miner V Wild 2026, a five-day survival trek through the Kimberley raising funds and awareness for youth mental health in Western Australia.
The group will cover around 12 kms each day while carrying 15-20 kgs of camping equipment and supplies. It will test them physically and mentally, but the challenge represents something much bigger.

In 2024, more than one in four deaths among young Western Australians aged 15 to 24 were due to su***de. Across Australia, around 1.1 million young adults aged 16 to 24 experienced a mental health disorder within a 12-month period.
Behind these numbers are young people in our families, workplaces, sporting clubs and communities. They highlight the urgent need for early intervention and accessible mental health support.

Funds raised through Miner V Wild will support Youth Focus in providing counselling and mental health services to young people across WA, helping them access professional support before they reach crisis point.

We’re incredibly proud to see Bud representing LiveMine and using this challenge to help create meaningful change.

This is bigger than a trek. It’s an opportunity for our industry to stand behind young Western Australians and make sure support is available when they need it most.

Last night, the LiveMine team took on Prison Island, navigating a series of challenging rooms that tested our strength, problem-solving skills and teamwork

We were pleased to see all five teams make it out still friends, although a few of the rooms definitely put us to the test! 😅

Congratulations to the winning team, The West Perth Tunnel Rats (Robert, Leon & Matthew), who just took out first place with an impressive score of 2840!

After working up an appetite, we headed to Tipsy Cow, where we enjoyed some of the best meals we’ve had 🤤

Happy 1-year work anniversary to Ross and Callum! 🎉

These two started at LiveMine on the same day, after both making the move to Australia earlier in the year, and it didn’t take long for them to become great mates.

They fit straight into the team, always bring positive energy to the office, and have achieved so much in their first year. All while embracing Aussie life, learning the slang and pretending to understand the rules of AFL 🤣
