For a long time, I compared my journey to everyone else’s.
I compared my business growth.
My income.
My client bookings.
My portfolio.
My milestones.
I watched other designers seemingly achieve everything I wanted and convinced myself I was falling behind.
What I didn’t see were the sacrifices, challenges, setbacks, and years of work behind those achievements.
In 2022, I took a leap of faith and quit my full-time job to pursue my passion for design. Since then, my journey has included rebrands, self-doubt, growth, a part-time job, becoming a homeowner, becoming a mother, and learning more lessons than I can count.
The biggest lesson of all?
Success doesn’t have a timeline.
Sometimes growth looks like signing dream clients.
Sometimes it looks like taking a part-time job to support your goals.
Sometimes it looks like stepping away from work completely to welcome your baby into the world.
And sometimes it looks like quietly rebuilding behind the scenes until everything finally feels aligned again.
These days, I’m embracing a much slower season of life. My days revolve around cuddles, contact naps, giggles, and watching my little boy grow. But during those quiet nap-time moments, I’ve also been reconnecting with my business and working towards a vision that feels more aligned than ever before.
If you’ve been feeling behind lately, this is your reminder that you’re not.
Your journey isn’t supposed to look like anyone else’s.
Trust your timing. Trust your path. 🖤
