After 17 years as an engineer in corporate high tech, Robin found her passion and studied photography in London, England. Her vision was to spread smiles and positive energy, and to bring families and teams together through an enjoyable, comforta

ble, and fun portrait and photography experience. Unposed expanded to an experienced team of photographers and editors and has now been operating for over 15 years in the Ottawa area. Unposed has had the pleasure of photographing heartfelt family moments, inspiring business professionals, exciting corporate events, incredible Bar Mitzvahs, and countless fits of laughter. The Unposed team is grateful to have been recognized with numerous awards and nominations including winning small business of the year for West Ottawa. They are also honoured to have been selected for unique photography opportunities across Canada and beyond including the 2017 Junos. Unposed provides family, business, corporate event, and Bar Mitzvah photography for Ottawa and the surrounding area. Our studio is located in Carleton Place, Ontario, only 35 minutes from downtown Ottawa.

What an incredible 20 years. It's been a joy and a privilege to meet and photograph so many heart-warming families, teams, individuals and events! You've thrown 1000s of pillows and hopefully 1000s more to come!

20 Year Countdown - 2008

2008 was a banner year with the honour of being named the number 1 emerging photographer in Canada by Photolife magazine and we also opened our new studio - mysteriously disguised as our garage. Sadly, we’ve been parking the cars outside in the snow ever since ;)

20 Year Countdown – 2006

Unposed incorporated in 2006. I loved the name (and still do), and was surprised that I was able to incorporate under that brand and obtain both a Canadian and US trademark.

The first studio was in the basement of our house. I'd bring the kids down on their own first so the parents could chill in the living room while listening to the chaos below. Paul and I renovated the basement with a new floor. Laying the hardwood together almost ended our relationship ;)

The girl on my first business card above is my niece Samantha. She's now 30 :)

I'm so thrilled that many of the families I photographed in those early days still come back for shoots today.

Leading up to the date, I thought it would be fun to countdown the years with a daily post. I’m starting at the beginning, life before Unposed. I was an engineer for 17 years before I saw the light…. ;)
