A little look back at Damenfest 2026! 🥨

From great conversations and connections to music, laughter, and plenty of Oktoberfest fun, it was a wonderful morning celebrating women in our community.

Reis Informatica was proud to sponsor this year's Damenfest Oktoberfest Breakfast and be part of an event that brings so many people together.

Here's a quick Cybersecurity Awareness Month exercise.

Open your shared drive and ask: who actually has access to this?

Over time, folders pile up permissions. The contractor from two years ago. The employee who left last spring. The "anyone with the link" setting someone turned on once and forgot about.

None of it feels risky until the wrong person opens the wrong file.

A simple cleanup goes a long way:

→ Remove access for anyone who's left the company or finished a project
→ Turn off "anyone with the link" on sensitive files
→ Keep HR, finance and client files in folders with limited access
→ Review permissions at least once or twice a year

It's not glamorous, but it's one of the easiest ways to close a gap you didn't know you had.

AI tools are making work faster. That's the good news.

The risk is what goes into them. A client contract to "clean up the wording." A spreadsheet of customer data to "summarize." Financials pasted in for a quick analysis.

Most of the time no one is doing anything wrong. They're just trying to get their job done faster, with a tool nobody vetted.

Before you ban it, get clear on three things:

→ Which AI tools are your people actually using?
→ What kind of information should never go into them?
→ Is there an approved tool your team can use instead?

The goal isn't to stop AI. It's to use it without handing your data to someone else.

Phishing emails don't look like scams anymore.

They look like an invoice from a vendor you actually use. A shared doc from a coworker. A quick request from your boss that's "urgent, can you handle this before 5?"

A few things to check before you click:

→ Hover over the sender. Does the address actually match the name?
→ Is it asking you to act fast, skip a step, or keep it quiet?
→ Are you being sent to a login page you didn't go looking for?
→ When in doubt, call the person. Don't reply to the email.

One click is all it takes, and it's rarely the IT team that makes it. That's why staff training matters as much as the technology.
