D2L Launch Week: Intelligent by Design brought together customer perspectives, live demonstrations and conversations about how learning technology can support K–12, higher education and corporate learning.

It was a pleasure for D2L to take part in an event hosted by the Canada-India Business Council. D2L’s Chief Revenue Officer, Lee Poteck, joined His Excellency Dinesh Patnaik, High Commissioner of India to Canada, and Mr. Mahaveer Singhvi, Consul General of India in Toronto.

DeVry University has selected D2L Brightspace to support its new competency-based education model, designed to give learners a more flexible and personalized path to progress.

The model will combine Brightspace with D2L Lumi, D2L Creator+ and D2L Performance+ to support adaptive learning, engaging course content and data-informed insights. It is anticipated to be available to learners in November 2026.

What an inspiring few days at WCET 2026 in Minneapolis! 💚

We were proud to connect with higher education leaders and colleagues to explore how institutions can build AI literacy and move from AI exploration to practical implementation.

Our sessions featured D2L’s Emma Zone alongside Angela Gunder, Josh Herron, Joshua Riedy and Karen Qualey. Together, they explored:

- Developing shared AI literacy strategies across pedagogy, operations and governance
- Using the AI Literacies in Practice Playbook to shape practical campus action plans
- Building an Applied AI competency model at Minnesota State University Moorhead
- Embedding AI competencies into D2L Brightspace to support alignment across curriculum, instruction and assessment

We also hosted An Evening of Conversations and Connections with Robyn Hammontree, bringing peers together for dinner and thoughtful conversation.

Last week, we headed to Cardiff for the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) Annual Conference 2026, connecting with professionals from across the education sector to exchange ideas and explore how technology is shaping the future of learning.

This year’s theme, “Learning without Edges: Digitally enabled learning in an ever-changing world,” sparked some great conversations around making learning more flexible, accessible and inclusive. From lifelong learning and learner empowerment to collaboration and new approaches to digital education, there was plenty to take away.

We were proud to be a Gala Dinner Supporter at this year’s conference, helping create another opportunity to continue conversations, share ideas and connect with others across the learning technology community.

A big thank you to ALT and everyone we had the chance to meet. It was great to be part of such an engaging event! 💚✨
