Hello dear friends and wonderful followers, a few months back (and still now on Apple Maps) we where marked permanently closed as a sales tactic by a major company to bully us into paying hundreds of dollars for a subscription service that “automatically updates” information on major platforms. These wonderful people are going through something similar and you can help by reporting it as inaccurate on all major sites like google, Apple Maps, or wherever you look up your favourite locations. Let’s be the change we want to see in the world! 💜
I need your help figuring something out.
I recently found out that Google had marked Llamazing Adventures as permanently closed.
If you searched for us recently and saw that notice, can you let me know approximately when? I have no idea how long it was there, and I'm wondering if it played a role in the worst last few months I've seen.
The truth is that 2026 has been rough. Revenue has been less than half of what it normally is, and despite six years of building this place and being a workaholic, I still can't even pay myself and fall short 9 months out of 12
From the outside, people see the TV appearances, news articles, viral videos, and social media pages with over 100,000 followers, the events we attend and assume things are going great. The reality is very different.
I've tried advertising, events, new tours, products, Airbnb, Harvest Hosts, and just about every idea I could think of to make this place sustainable. But every new thing adds more work, more responsibility, and more stress. I can't afford full-time help, so most of it falls on me.
The animals still need care. The property still needs maintenance. The emails still need answering. The bills still need paying.
Lately I've been realizing while suffering throught my 3rd burnout that this buisness is just not sustainable both financialy and health wise( and I haven't even hit the busy season yet)🥲... June, July, and August are the only months that really make financial sense. I think iv reached my limit and will have to make it seasonal...
That breaks my heart because I love this place. I love the animals. I love what we've built.
What keeps me going are my animals and the people. The messages telling me their visit was the highlight of their vacation. The families who come back year after year. The people who tell me the animals made a difference in their lives. Family's making us their yearly tradition, year after year
I'm not looking for sympathy. I'm just trying to understand what changed and figure out a way forward.
Maybe someone here has the answer
Maybe it's becoming seasonal.
Or maybe after six years of struggling, I simply need a break and a chance to come back with a fresh brain and fresh perspective.
And if you have ideas, I'm all ears. ❤️
