We’re back from DALO Industry Days (hosted by the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation).

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand to discuss seabed survey and how EIVA sensor platforms and software can help turn subsea data into a better understanding of the underwater domain.

As defence organisations increasingly look to industry for technologies that can help bridge capability gaps below the surface, DALO Industry Days highlighted the important role commercial maritime technologies can play in supporting defence and maritime security objectives.

Around 70% of geoscience data has a spatial component. So even small positioning errors can lead to inefficiencies, rework and reduced confidence in decision-making.

Whether it's planning a cable route, monitoring offshore infrastructure or managing survey data, organisations rely on accurate positioning information to understand where assets, observations and operations are taking place.

That makes geodesy, the science of measuring and positioning on the Earth, a critical foundation for trusted data.

One of the key topics discussed at the 14th IOGP Geomatics Industry Day was the importance of geospatial integrity and the role of the Geospatial Integrity of Geoscience Software (GIGS) framework in helping identify and reduce spatial data risks.

Our own John Kelly shared how EIVA uses the GIGS test dataset to continually validate geodetic coordinate computations within our NaviSuite software, helping ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability as systems evolve.

As survey operations become more data-driven and increasingly automated, confidence in data quality becomes just as important as the data itself.

An ocean of data. A world of insight.

The recent survey of the shipwrecked Terra Nova – the last ship of British Antarctic explorer Robert Falcon Scott – is helping to create a detailed digital record of the historic wreck using underwater imaging and photogrammetry.

But the value goes beyond creating a digital twin.
