Así arranca el nuevo episodio del podcast de MarsBased, con Sergio Gago, CTO de Cloudera, de vuelta en el estudio con Àlex Rodríguez Bacardit.

Sergio cuenta que un día llegó a su oficina de San José y se encontró a todos los ingenieros hablándole al ordenador, cada uno con varios agentes a la vez. Hoy su equipo entero trabaja así.

¿Quién revisa entonces todo ese código? Para Sergio, querer revisarlo a mano es “poner puertas al bosque”. El objetivo del QA nunca fue crear test cases, sino entregar software de calidad. Y cree que los perfiles que van a desaparecer son los que se enamoraron de la metodología, del framework o del lenguaje, y no de lo que hacían con ellos.

Lo que más cuenta ahora, dice, es dedicar tiempo a diseñar bien el sistema. Si eso está bien hecho, el resto viene detrás.

CEOs are coding again.

This time, it's CEO time: Àlex Rodríguez Bacardit sat down with Amir Salihefendic, CEO of Doist, for the first time in person, and both of them are deep in the code. Amir told us he's more involved than ever: this week he prototyped a table view in an hour that would have taken months before. Getting it polished and into users' hands is still the hard part.

We also talked about engineers becoming architects instead of bricklayers, an MCP that started as a side quest and now accounts for two-thirds of their API traffic, and the day one of his agents deleted an entire AWS environment. It's worth every minute.

Hay empresas que contratan a alguien para que intente entrar en ellas. Sin que lo sepa casi nadie del equipo, a veces por la red y a veces colándose en la oficina, para descubrir vulnerabilidades que ni ellas mismas conocían. Se llama red teaming y es una de las especialidades de Martín Vigo.

Martín trabajó como software engineer en Apple, hizo product security en Salesforce y red teaming en Meta, y después fundó su propia empresa de ciberseguridad, Triskel Security. También conduce Tierra de Hackers, su podcast sobre ciberseguridad.

After 11 years, we’re closing Startups BCN.

We started it in October 2015 as a Slack to keep the conversation going between Startup Grind Barcelona events. It grew to over 2000 members and became a direct line to founders, investors and CTOs across the city. It brought us colleagues, partners, investments and, yes, even a couple of families.

Activity faded after the pandemic. We looked for someone to take it over, but no realistic plan came in, so we decided to close it properly instead of letting it linger.

CTO fundador vs. CTO corporativo. ¿En qué cambia realmente el rol?

En el nuevo episodio de Road to CTO, Àlex Rodríguez Bacardit, nuestro CEO, charla con Roger Sindreu. Roger fue CTO fundador de su propia empresa, pasó por IBM, AWS y Grab, y hoy es director de ingeniería en Distribusion.

Como fundador, Roger podía cambiar de dirección en una mañana. En una gran empresa aprendió que una buena idea no basta: hay que convencer al CEO, a los equipos comerciales y al resto de stakeholders. Si no eres capaz de transformar una idea tuya en idea del grupo, nunca la vas a ejecutar.

También hablan de cómo pasar de programar a liderar a 70 personas sin perder el contacto con la tecnología, de por qué el código tiene cada vez menos valor frente a un producto validado, y de cómo la IA está cambiando el día a día de los equipos de ingeniería.
