Green Ethiopia
Green Ethiopia is a youth-led volunteer organization dedicated to raise awareness about environmental sustainability in Ethiopia. Green Ethiopia’s founder Elshaday Girma, an Environmental Engineering student in Atlanta recognized that Ethiopia needs to integrate itself into a more environmentally conscious nation and a green economy. As a result, Green Ethiopia was created as a platform to help raise awareness, educate and create a space for dialogue on the current environmental challenges in Ethiopia. We strive to take the lead in solving some of the most prevalent environmental issues and provide individuals the means by which they can directly engage in solutions. To do so, Green Ethiopia provides information on ecological and environmental sustainability, carries out projects and leads environmental campaigns, advocates for policies and hosts events that push our country towards a sustainable future. Green Ethiopia’s vision is to ensure that citizens acknowledge the centrality of nature and recognize the vital role in our culture. We believe Ethiopia can utilize its vast knowledge of the nation's ecosystem to reinstate the importance of the environment for human life. Let's Prioritize nature for a sustainable growth!
