Pankkien ja vakuutusyhtiöiden asiakkaat eivät ajattele järjestelmiä. He odottavat sujuvaa palvelua. Siksi myös pankkien modernisaatiota kannattaa tarkastella tästä asiakkaan näkökulmasta.

Kun lainaoriginaatio perustuu hajanaisiin järjestelmiin, manuaalisiin työvaiheisiin ja heikkoon integraatioon, vaikutukset näkyvät lopulta asiakkaalle asti: hitaampina prosesseina, suurempana virheriskinä ja heikompana palvelukokemuksena.

Meidän näkökulmastamme, teknologian ja liiketoiminnan yhdistävänä kumppanina, modernisaation onnistumista ei mitata vain uuden teknologian käyttöönotolla, vaan sillä, kuinka hyvin uusi ratkaisu auttaa pankkia palvelemaan omia asiakkaitaan. Banking Suite -whitepaperissamme avaamme, miten pankit voivat uudistaa lainaoriginaatiota ja muita keskeisiä prosesseja vaiheittain. Tavoitteena on rakentaa toimintamalli, jossa teknologia tukee asiakasta, henkilöstöä ja liiketoimintaa samanaikaisesti.

Yli puolet Suomen asuntolainoista hoidetaan järjestelmillä, joita me olemme olleet rakentamassa.

Advisory work in a bank or insurer runs on things a generic system doesn't know about: eligibility rules, oversight requirements, the need to show later exactly why a recommendation was made.

So teams improvise. A spreadsheet on the side. A manual check before every case. A report someone rebuilds by hand each month because no tool produces it. It keeps things moving, but every workaround is a small crack in a process that's supposed to be airtight.

Evitec Solutions Pace is built for that specific kind of work. It carries the rules, the guidance and the record of what happened inside the advisor's actual workflow, so the process holds together without the side-spreadsheets propping it up.

What's the one manual workaround your team relies on that really ought to live inside the system?

Kun toimittaja sanoo käyttävänsä tekoälyä, se ei kerro pankille enää mitään.

Oikea kysymys kuuluu toisin. Pystyykö sen tekoälyn tekemän päätöksen perustelemaan Finanssivalvonnalle? Ja jos ihminen on eri mieltä kuin kone, kumpi jää voimaan?

Meillä vastaus on selvä.

Sustainable bond classification looks like a finance problem. Most of the time it's a data problem wearing a finance costume.

Deciding whether an asset qualifies isn't usually the hard part. The hard part comes months later, when someone has to prove why it qualified: which criteria applied, who signed off, what changed since. If that history lives in spreadsheets and email threads, every reporting round turns into detective work, and the systems team feels it as much as the treasury desk.

This is the part of ESG that never reaches the strategy slides. Not the ambition, but the record-keeping underneath it. A bond platform built for the job carries that quietly: eligibility criteria applied consistently, decisions logged as they happen, reporting you can stand behind when the auditor calls.

Whether you sit in treasury or on the systems side, how much of your week goes to rebuilding old decisions instead of making new ones?

Most banks have a customer engagement strategy. Most advisors have three systems open and still can't find the note from the last call.

That's the gap where customer relationships quietly slip, and it's usually not a strategy problem. The tools underneath were built for general use, not for a regulated advisory process where every interaction has to leave a trace.

Pace is our customer engagement platform for banks and insurers. It brings the customer data, the guidance and the value calculations the advisor needs into one view, so the prep time collapses and the conversation gets the attention instead. It works alongside the core system and the CRM rather than replacing either.

If you counted it honestly, how many minutes a day does your team lose to switching between systems?

Do your customer advisors work like this?

Fifteen minutes before a customer call, the advisor has three systems open and still can't find the note from last month's conversation.

This is the reality for many financial advisory departments.

Customer history is spread across a CRM, a servicing system, and a few email threads. The latest service case is in a queue somewhere. The relevant product context takes a separate lookup. By the time the call connects, the advisor is catching up rather than prepared.

It’s rarely a training problem. The problem lies in the system architecture: there are too many places for information to live in, and no single place to start from.

Pace gives advisors that starting point so they come well-prepared – customer data, interaction history and context for the conversation ready before the call.

Most AI pilots start with the model, not the data underneath it. By the time anyone checks what the model was actually trained on, the pilot is already running.

Whatever gaps exist in that data don't stay hidden. The model inherits them, then repeats them – faster and at a scale no manual process ever reached.

This is usually why AI initiatives quietly underdeliver. Not the model itself, but data that was never clean enough to trust in the first place.

A data health check is the least glamorous step in any AI project. It's also the step most often skipped – which is exactly why it tends to decide the outcome.

AI is a multiplier. The question worth asking first is what, exactly, you're multiplying.

Like if you want more on getting your data ready before the AI project.

Are you running advisory on a CRM built for everyone?

Then your process has probably bent to fit the tool – and in a regulated business, that bend isn't free.

A generic CRM is built to track deals. It rarely understands the regulatory and product logic sitting behind a single financial advisory conversation. So the tool doesn't adapt to your business. Your business adapts to the tool.

Does your CRM understand your product, or just your pipeline? A generic sales tool sees a deal moving through stages. It doesn't see the product rules or the regulatory context that actually shape the advice.

How much of your process bends to fit the software? When the tool wasn't built for your industry, your people invent workarounds – and over time the workarounds quietly become the process.

What does "good enough" CRM cost in a regulated business? The gaps it leaves – product context, compliance fit – aren't cosmetic here. They sit on your risk register whether you log them there or not.

In a regulated business the tool isn't neutral furniture. Whatever it can't do doesn't disappear – it becomes something your people carry.

Do you know what you're missing in your sustainable bond classification?

Probably not. And that's the point. A gap like this doesn't announce itself.

Classification runs on manual work: someone checks each loan against the criteria, decides if it qualifies, and adds it to the pool by hand. When that gets backlogged, a qualifying loan doesn't get flagged as missing. It just never appears.

There's no report for loans that should be in your pool but aren't. No dashboard flags a classification that didn't happen. The absence is invisible by design – you'd need to already know what to look for to notice it's gone.

Which means the real question isn't how complete your pool is today. It's how you'd ever find out if it wasn't.

Follow if you want to keep seeing takes on where sustainable bond classification is heading.
