MuchLoved

MuchLoved MuchLoved is the leading in-memory platform, helping you create a beautiful tribute website to remember your loved one and fundraise in their memory.

Light a candle and add stories, photos, music, videos to celebrate their life, and so much more. Established by Jonathan Davies in 2000 after the death of his brother and mother, MuchLoved hosts memorial websites on behalf of over 100,000 people, which is both an immense privilege and responsibility and we hope that you will consider joining our growing and supportive community. The best way to se

e how your memorial site will look is simply to Create a Tribute - this is very easy to do and only takes a couple of minutes. You can personalise the design, add memories, photos, music and video as well as invite friends & family to visit and contribute. At all times you retain total control over privacy and postings, plus your site is hosted online in perpetuity so that you can keep it as both a loving and a lasting tribute. The tributes are here to help you as you try to cope with the pain of loss. They help you and your family and friends to express your grief, share your special memories and commemorate your loved one together, regardless of the time of day or where you live. We believe there is often a sense of reserve that accompanies death which can make grieving worse. It is almost as though death is unnatural, something best forgotten. We reject such a taboo and believe that positive recognition of loss and mutual support are key parts of grieving. You can find out more about the history of MuchLoved on our website, or please do get in touch if you have any questions. We are extremely grateful to all our supporting organisations; it is because of them that it is free for you to create and keep your special tribute site.

This Volunteers’ Week 2026, we’re celebrating the incredible people who give their time, care, and energy to support others 💜

At MuchLoved, we see every day how volunteers help keep memories alive — supporting families to create lasting tributes, fundraise in meaningful ways, and honour the lives of those they love.

In-memory fundraising is more than raising money — it’s about connection, remembrance, and community. And behind so much of that impact are volunteers who make it all possible.

To every volunteer helping others remember, share, and give back: thank you. Your kindness creates ripples that last far beyond a single moment.

“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words” by Victor Hugo.

When words feel too small for the love we carry, music can say it all — bringing comfort, connection, and memories that live on in every note.

On MuchLoved tribute pages, you can add meaningful songs that capture the essence of someone special — whether it’s a favourite track, a song that tells their story, or simply something that brings you closer to them.

Because sometimes, the most powerful tributes are the ones we feel, not just the ones we write. 🎵💜

Most people expect to be very upset or distressed when someone close to them has died. What takes many people by surprise is how strong the emotions can be, how they can change very quickly, and how long they last. People around you may seem to think you should be ‘back to normal’ after a few weeks or months. You might appear to be your usual self to other people, but you know that on the inside, you’re not even sure what normal is anymore.

Everyone grieves in a way that is unique to them and their relationship with the person who has died. Well-intentioned people may say to you, ‘Time is a great healer.’ Sometimes, however, it can seem that life is more difficult as the weeks and months go by.

We know that no-one can understand exactly what your loss feels like to you. But we do understand that it’s sometimes easier to talk to someone outside of your friends and family about grief and the impact of bereavement of your life. We want to improve your access to bereavement care and this is why we offer GriefChat's instant chat support.

GriefChat was created by bereavement experts and you can chat directly to a specially trained bereavement counsellor. GriefChat professional counsellors are experienced in supporting bereaved people and will listen to your story, explore how your grief is affecting you and help you to find any additional support you might need, including referral into other specialist bereavement services.

You can remain anonymous or provide your name, whichever you prefer. It is a completely free service and is available to you Monday to Friday, 9am-9pm or by email out of these hours.

This year, Mental Health Awareness Week will take place from 11 to 17 May 2026. The theme for 2026 is 'Action'.

We invite everyone to join us in taking steps to promote positive mental well-being. Even minor actions can instill hope and reduce feelings of helplessness. While individual efforts are important, our collective actions hold even greater strength.

Awareness is crucial, but genuine transformation occurs when we also take steps forward.

At MuchLoved, we are honoured to partner with 💜

In 2026, Dying Matters Awareness Week will take place from Monday 4 to Sunday 10 May. The theme of this year's campaign is: The Culture of Dying Matters.

Every year, people around the UK use Dying Matters Awareness Week, led by Hospice UK, as a moment to encourage all communities to get talking in whatever way, shape or form works for them.

Death, dying and bereavement affect us all. Yet 27% of people find it hard to talk about death with family or friends, and 30% bottle their feelings up.* If we don’t talk about death and dying and bereavement, it can be harder to cope when we experience it.

The mission of Dying Matters is to break down the stigma and taboo of talking about death and dying. But sometimes, it’s hard to know where to start.

This Dying Matters Awareness Week is focusing on the importance of conversations about death and dying – with family, friends, employers, anyone in your life – helping people to get the conversation started.

Events and activities are taking place across the UK to mark Dying Matters Awareness Week. For more information, or to find out how to host your own event, visit the Dying Matters website: https://www.hospiceuk.org/our-campaigns/dying-matters
