👻🎃 Don’t let your website visitors ghost you this Halloween!

You’ve invested time and money getting people to your website.

They browse a few pages.
Look at your products or services.
Maybe even reach the pricing page…

…and then disappear.

Sometimes they were never going to convert. But other visitors may simply have had a question they couldn’t answer, struggled to find the right information or visited when nobody was available to help.

That’s where making it easier to start a conversation can make a difference.

💬 Live Chat gives visitors a quick way to ask questions while they browse.
⚡ Proactive chat invitations can offer help at key points in the journey.
🤖 Chatbots and AI Agents can provide support when your team isn’t available.
📱 WhatsApp and SMS give customers more choice over how they stay in touch.

Because sometimes the difference between a lost visitor and a valuable opportunity is simply being there when they need you.

👀 “Just Google it” might not be the default answer forever - https://buff.ly/URa37Ck

More people are starting to use AI assistants to research products, compare services and find answers without working their way through pages of traditional search results. Instead, they can describe what they need, ask follow-up questions and refine the answer conversationally.

That could have some pretty big implications for businesses.

If an AI assistant is helping someone decide which companies to consider in the first place, visibility may no longer be just about where you rank on Google. Your website also needs to make it incredibly clear:

👉 What you offer
👉 Who it’s for
👉 What problems you solve
👉 Why someone should choose you

And the journey doesn’t stop there.

By the time someone reaches your website, they may already have researched several providers and formed a shortlist. At that point, they’re likely to want quick answers about pricing, suitability, integrations or next steps.

That’s where Live Chat, Chatbots and AI Agents could become an increasingly important part of the journey, keeping the conversational experience going once the customer arrives on your site.

So, are AI assistants becoming the new search engines?

Maybe not replacing them entirely but they’re certainly changing what “search” looks like.

🤖💬 AI can answer faster. But does faster actually mean better customer service? - https://buff.ly/nm0rWAy

That’s the question behind our latest article and the research throws up some pretty interesting results.

Among organisations able to compare AI with human agents:

⚡ 69% said AI performs better on average handling time
🎯 But 44% said humans are better at first-contact resolution
😊 And when it came to customer satisfaction, not one organisation surveyed said AI performed better than a human agent.

Consumers were even more revealing.

69% felt AI was worse at understanding their issue, while 59% said it was less effective at resolving their enquiry.

So perhaps the problem isn’t that AI is too slow.

It’s that getting an answer isn’t always the same as solving the problem.

A chatbot can provide perfectly accurate information and still leave a customer frustrated if it doesn’t understand what they’re really trying to achieve or recognise when a human needs to step in.

The opportunity isn’t necessarily to automate every conversation.
It’s to work out:

👉 Which enquiries AI handles well
👉 Where human judgement adds more value
👉 How the two work together
👉 And what success actually looks like

Because the best customer service strategy probably isn’t AI vs human.

It’s AI + human, used in the right places.

You’ve planned the offers.
Checked the stock.
Prepared the campaigns.
Made sure the website can handle the traffic.

Then the questions start…

“Will this arrive before Christmas?”
“Can I use two discount codes?”
“Is this available in another size?”
“What’s your returns policy?”

And on Black Friday, customers may not be prepared to wait until tomorrow for an answer. Those seemingly simple service questions can quickly become the difference between completing the purchase and abandoning it.

That’s where the right mix of Live Chat, Chatbots, AI Agents and human support can really help.

Automation can take care of routine questions and provide support outside normal hours, while your team stays available for the conversations that genuinely need human knowledge and judgement.

Because bringing thousands of extra visitors to your website is great.

Being ready to help them once they get there is even better.

Your customer doesn’t care which department owns their question - https://buff.ly/CKTF2WV

They don’t arrive on your website thinking:

“Ah yes, this feels like a Marketing enquiry.”
“Better save that one for Sales.”
“Perhaps Customer Service can deal with this later.” 😅

They just want an answer.

And that’s where AI agents could start changing the traditional customer journey.

Instead of operating as another tool inside one department, an AI agent can potentially:

→ Engage someone attracted by marketing
→ Answer their questions
→ Understand what they’re trying to achieve
→ Spot buying intent
→ Qualify an opportunity
→ Support an existing customer
→ Bring in the right human when their expertise is needed

All without making the customer start again every time the conversation crosses an internal departmental boundary.

The interesting part isn’t replacing Sales, Marketing or Customer Service.
It’s potentially turning them into one continuous commercial conversation.

Of course, installing an AI agent alone won’t magically remove silos. Data, workflows, ownership, security and human handovers all still matter.

But it does raise an interesting question:

If your customer sees one business, why should they have to experience three different departments?

🤖🛒 AI is no longer just helping people shop. It’s starting to shop for them - https://buff.ly/TX1d0xl

That’s the idea behind agentic commerce and it could change the online buying journey much faster than many businesses expect.

John Lewis recently reported that searches coming from AI agents now account for 2.5% of its product searches, up from just 0.3% a year ago. Shopify has also seen traffic from AI tools to merchants grow 8x, with orders linked to AI-powered searches increasing almost 13x.

Instead of:

Search → Browse → Compare → Buy

We could increasingly see:

Ask AI → AI researches → compares options → recommends → customer buys

That has some pretty big implications for businesses.

If an AI agent is deciding which products or services best match a customer’s needs, can it actually understand what you offer?

Can it find your pricing?
Your availability?
Your delivery information?
Your returns policy?
What genuinely makes you different?

And if the customer arrives on your website after AI has already done most of the research, they may be much closer to making a decision than a traditional search visitor.

That makes those final questions answered by Live Chat, a chatbot or an AI Agent even more important.

Our latest article looks at what agentic commerce actually is, how it could reshape online shopping, and what businesses should be thinking about now.

🎓 Clearing doesn’t stop when results day ends and neither do student enquiries - https://buff.ly/zjjPJq8

Our latest case study looks at how universities using Click4Assistance handled the surge in demand around Clearing with a combination of Live Chat and AI.

The data revealed some interesting trends:

📈 28% increase in chat volumes during August
💬 92% of surveyed Clearing Live Chat users said their question was answered
🤖 Only 20% of Clearing chatbot conversations needed human intervention
🏠 For accommodation enquiries, that dropped to just 5%
📅 And while Clearing conversations peaked on A level results day, accommodation Live Chat peaked four days later

It’s a great reminder that Clearing isn’t just about managing one exceptionally busy day. Students’ questions evolve quickly - from courses and entry requirements to accommodation and the practicalities of starting university.

By combining AI with human support, universities can provide instant answers to routine questions while keeping their teams available for the conversations where their expertise really matters.

🏛️ What can No10 North teach businesses about customer experience? - https://buff.ly/AOUq6TH

At first glance, Andy Burnham’s No10 North initiative and omnichannel customer service might seem worlds apart.

But there’s an interesting principle connecting the two:

Meet people where they are.

For customers, that means not forcing them to understand your internal structure, hunt for the right department or use the channel that suits your organisation rather than them.

For businesses engaging with government, the challenge can be remarkably similar.

If No10 North succeeds in bringing decision-making closer to businesses and communities, while keeping different parts of government connected behind the scenes, it starts to resemble what great omnichannel service is trying to achieve.

The same applies to AI, Live Chat, WhatsApp and other digital channels. Simply offering more ways to communicate isn’t enough.

The real question is:

👉 Are those channels connected?
👉 Can people get answers quickly?
👉 Can they move between channels without starting again?
👉 Does the person closest to the issue actually have the ability to help?

Technology should make organisations easier to reach and easier to deal with — not add another layer of complexity.

Our latest blog explores what No10 North, decentralisation and customer service might have in common, and why the future could be about bringing organisations closer to the people they serve.

Meet people where they are. Make it easy to reach you. And make sure someone can help when they do.

🔐🌐 ISO 27001 certification isn't the end of the process. It's a commitment to maintaining the standard - https://buff.ly/G5nK8Vj

When ISO 27001:2022 was introduced, Click4Assistance chose to transition early — becoming one of the earlier UK organisations to achieve certification against the updated standard.

We're now proud to have successfully completed our first full ISO 27001:2022 recertification audit, carried out by BSI. (https://buff.ly/znPNe0s)

For us, that's important because information security isn't simply about achieving a certificate. It's about demonstrating that the processes, controls and culture behind it continue to stand up to independent scrutiny.

As organisations increasingly rely on cloud platforms, connected systems and AI, the way information is protected needs to evolve too.

In our latest article, we look at why ISO 27001 matters when choosing a technology partner, what recertification actually means, and why security and innovation need to work together.

Features, integrations and price are naturally important. But live chat, chatbots and AI can also handle personal information, account details and potentially sensitive conversations — making security an equally important consideration from the outset.

In our latest article, we look at some of the questions organisations should be asking prospective technology providers, including:

🔹 Where is customer data hosted?
🔹 Does the supplier hold ISO 27001 certification?
🔹 How are GDPR responsibilities supported?
🔹 Who can access customer conversations?
🔹 Are role-based permissions, SSO, MFA and audit logs available?
🔹 Is regular pe*******on testing carried out?
🔹 And, increasingly importantly, what can the supplier's AI actually access and do?

At Click4Assistance, our platform is ISO 27001:2022 certified and UK hosted, with security controls including role-based permissions, audit logs, SSO and MFA, alongside regular pe*******on testing.

Security isn't a single feature or certificate. It's an ongoing approach to protecting the conversations customers trust organisations to handle.
