Your app might work on iPhone Duo. But will it actually feel like it belongs there?
For businesses with an existing iOS app, the challenge is not simply making the interface fit a bigger screen. Foldable devices introduce new ways people interact with apps, from Split View and half-screen layouts to switching between closed, open and hands-free modes.
A good place to start is by asking whether your app still works comfortably at half-screen width, whether users keep their place, form inputs or media when the device folds or unfolds, and whether important information remains clear when the phone is propped up and viewed from further away.
These are the kinds of issues that can make an app feel dated even when it technically still works. That is why we have added a fold-first stage to our iOS design process at Cardiff App Developers, covering posture mapping, fold-aware layouts, continuity design, motion prototyping and real-world testing.
