This week is Men's Health Week, and as a business owner, dad, and proud Movember Ambassador for Cumbria, one campaign has really stood out to me.

Movember are calling for fathers in the UK to have **six weeks of paternity leave at 90% pay**.

At the moment, many dads get just **two weeks**, and for lots of families the financial pressure means they can't even take all of that time.

As a dad myself, I know those early weeks aren't just about nappies and sleepless nights. They're about bonding, supporting your partner, learning together, and looking after your own mental health too.

The statistics are hard to ignore:

⚽ 92% of people believe it's important for fathers to spend time with their children in those early months.

⚽ 60% of Britons think paternity pay should be increased.

⚽ 50% of fathers say money is the biggest barrier to taking more leave.

Movember's message this Men's Health Week is simple:

**MEN NEED EXTRA TIME.**

Because giving dads more time at the start of fatherhood doesn't just benefit men – it creates stronger families, healthier relationships, and better outcomes for everyone.
