Well done to everyone who received their exam results this week 👏

If you got the results you wanted, that's amazing! However, if you didn't, it's not the end of the world. There really is no wrong path. Everyone's journey in to their chosen industry looks completely different, and that's the most exciting part!

Here's how Steve became part owner and director at Upstream IT:

🏫I Left school at 16 as I wasn’t allowed to do both my preferred Highers in one year.

🏨I then went to college for 3 years and started part time work as a kitchen porter then waiter in a hotel.

👨🏻‍💻Landed a training role 3 months after finishing college and after 6 months in the role my manager left the company and I was left to manage the IT for the whole organisation.

📦Made redundant twice.

🛠️After a bad experience from another IT role, I decided to take a break from the industry and ended up working in a DIY store for a year. I was looking at becoming a police officer during this time.

📱Got contacted by my boss from my second job who was running his own IT company and was looking for help.

✅Been there 21 years, and now I am part owner.
