New stuff No2

Novastar MX30 Videowall controllers - New in is a brace of shiny new Novastar things that allow the nova based Led panel to be fully fandangled using the almost user friendly COEX software. Now we have always been Brompton based here so relatively spoiled when it comes to the LED processing side of things, but as a dry hire company who may also be getting a whole load of a more cost effective LED panels shortly, its a wise investment...

So in the space of a couple of days we delivered three very different LED jobs.

First was a 3m / 3m square led on a bespoke ground support so it floated just above the floor installed into Jupiter Artland for John Gerrard's Flare (Oceania) as in the current Extraction exhibition (https://www.jupiterartland.org/art/extraction). JA is always worth a visit and this is a particularly arresting work. We designed and built the custom support from scratch and seeing it installed its been worth the extra effort .

Next was a Conference for BK (https://www.bk-ep.com) in Edinburgh. This was a 10m wide by 3m high screen but with smoothly curved ends framing a 7m flat centre section. Looked absolutely smashing installed and the double curve at each end made all the difference.

After rigging all that we were through in Glasgow's legendary Barrowland Ballroom for a sell out show with Sammy Virji. We squeezed in a 7m / 4m screen and added a couple of PTZ cameras to add a bit of interest to the VJ setup.

So the common thread linking the precision and detail of the gallery setup, high-end corporate conference and a full on rave was all used our Roe Topaz 2.6 panels on Brompton processing deployed in completely different ways but delivering the required results in a effortless manner. I think the lesson here is if you go for the best product you can and have enough of it combined with a small amount of planning even a bunch of barely competents can look like they know what their doing...

New stuff No1

200m Lc fibre drums as kits with 12G SDI convertors. There was a time when 100m seemed a cable so long that it would never be fully unwound, but sadly it seems that 200m is now a requirement for getting high bandwidth signal from here to there. We have the drums and the convertors to allow for 12g SDI, SMPTE 2110 Matrox IP convertors or simple Network traffic. It's another altogether tedious problem fixed and you don't now need to send your whole show down a couple of wires shoddily joined together somewhere round the back end of the bit nobody goes anymore...

Superb evening for the launch of Dingwall 800 and an amazing community turnout for a lantern parade with projections and music. Design by .artist with the talented for a 20 minute video mapping design onto the town hall featuring archive photos and film alongside portraits of people from the town. Delighted and grateful to be involved in projects like this. Thanks to Fèis Rois for having us involved 🫶

Two years ago we did some magical gigs with The Proclaimers including Leith links on the same night that Kenny Macleans goal secured qualification for Scotland in Norway.

Two years later and the Isos from the Imag cameras have been graded and recut and it all looks super barry. He who is tired of hearing "I'm on my way" is tired of life....

St Andrews day was also marked by being the first sell out show of this years Castle of Light.

It was pleasing to see over 4,000 folks experiencing, interacting and enjoying the various installations around The Castle. It's always nice to see something the result of lots of hard work be enjoyed by people with big queues outside and smiling faces inside, altogether a pleasing evening.

Back in the Hydro again providing Imag for Local Lad Callum Beattie.

The venue was absolutely packed which is no mean feat and the crowd absolutely loved it so total respect to Callum for delivering.

We did the whole show in Black and white as this suited the look they were going for but had a Wizard of oz moment going full Technoicolour for the last song...

Obviously when top LD Colin MCallum needed a AV supplier for the current Babyshambles UK tour we were more than happy to assist with a projection package.

Here's a shot from the Brixton Academy show and not only does the projection look tip top, but our road cases also double as an onstage drinks table for Peter - that's the Warpro touch, always going one step further!

PANASONIC OPEN DAY

We are hosting a Panasonic Open Day this Wednesday 6th of August. Both the Panasonic Display and Camera teams will be on hand to show the current PTZ and Studio Cameras plus Kairos Switching with Projection and displays too.

The intention is that its an informal opportunity to gain some inside knowledge of the inner workings of the products and learn some of the tips and shortcuts that can make it easier to deliver productions. It is not a sales event and even though we at warpro are hosting it, there is zero obligation and its open to all that might actually find it useful.
