Most contact centres are still verifying identity the same way they did 20 years ago.

A few security questions, a date of birth, maybe a memorable word.

That puts agents in an impossible position .
Push back on a customer who can't remember their answers, or take the risk and move on.

Neither is a great outcome.
And fraudsters know exactly how to exploit that hesitation.
