CIOs and IT Directors are navigating three constant pressures: delivering performance, meeting targets and controlling rising IT costs.
Weightmans demonstrated that performance, and cost efficiency are not competing priorities but can be delivered together through smarter IT decisions.
When the firm needed to refresh 1,400 laptops, they moved away from the traditional approach of buying new devices. Instead, they adopted Circular Computing’s remanufactured laptops, enabling a solution that addressed all three challenges simultaneously.
The outcome was clear. Enterprise-grade performance was maintained across the organisation, ensuring no disruption to users or operations. At the same time, approximately 440,000 kg of CO₂ emissions were avoided, contributing directly to Scope 3 reduction goals. Crucially, this was achieved while reducing overall IT expenditure compared to a like-for-like new laptop refresh.
This reflects a broader shift in IT strategy. Environmental impact and financial efficiency are now viewed as critical, whilst innovation is making remanufactured performance to be "equal to or better than new".
Weightmans provides a clear example of what is possible. Three pressures, one solution, delivered through a smarter, more strategic approach to laptop procurement.
