Based in Oxford, is a busy and popular movement studio providing a refreshing take on fitness which is inclusive, supportive and accessible to all. A much loved studio with a highly engaged, loyal client base, the team at Every Body Studio approached Ditto to develop a brand presence which reflected the energy and passion of this brilliantly vibrant studio.

To capture this joyful, community minded and inclusive ethos, we created a visual identity which was both grounded and playful. Our focus was on how movement makes you feel, not how it looks - its not about perfect poses, but people simply moving, together.

As the world beyond the window turns golden, it’s the perfect time to share the brand identity for Acre. Acre are a Kent based furniture designer and maker that specialise in working with British timber.

With sustainability at the heart of every part of the process, an ongoing conversation with nature guides every decision. Equilibrium between the wildness of nature and the perfect finish of our pieces is found in the unspoken agreement to honour the beauty of the material. Working exclusively with hand selected British timber, each piece has a unique narrative; a story of the woodland, and of the hours of patient labour as the timber is carefully formed into something new.

The visual brand speaks to the character of English woodland: quiet, unhurried and enduring.

“We have never had so much choice, yet felt so alone and unsure”

This line from a podcast stopped me in my tracks.

It was a conversation about human relationships and social atrophy, discussing how we are losing basic social skills and the ability to build relationships - despite meaningful connection being the thing we all crave.

And really, this thinking applies to all areas of our lives. Whether socially or professionally, we desperately need human connection in order to thrive.

In an increasingly digital age, human connection remains an irreplaceable essential. Professionally, that means putting yourself out there.

Pick up the phone. Ask for advice. Offer advice. Compare notes, share ideas in real time, and get the dopamine hit which can only be found in human connection.

Every single presentation we deliver is printed. Which might seem frivolous in an age where we could just email a pdf - but we feel is an essential part of the process.

Fastidious attention to detail is something we’re exceptionally proud of as a studio, and it’s a discipline which extends to all areas of our work. Taking time to select the most beautiful card, to print each page and hand finish each presentation with an embossed mark embodies the care we devote to every single project, every time. It all adds a little extra magic and delight to the experience.

Most of the people I work with are genuinely *exceptional* at what they do. They bring powerful perspectives, ideas with the potential to reshape entire industries and ideas which can inspire new ways of thinking. Talent, ideas, passion and energy are not things they are short of.

And yet, without exception, these people lack the confidence and clarity in their ability to express their ideas with the wider world.

The result? Well, not much at all. Those perspective remains theirs and theirs alone, their ideas failing to reach anyone beyond their immediate network. What a shame that is.

I believe passionately that brilliant ideas are worth sharing, and that talent deserves to be celebrated. And really, that’s what a powerful brand can do: provide the platform from which all of your innate magic can be amplified and shine.

~ Are you selling what you think you are? ~

I know, it’s a really weird question, but hear me out.

Several years ago, I was locked in a frustrating battle with our own brand. This was maybe fifteen or more years ago when the business was much younger and had a more generalised design offering. I was really struggling to articulate the value that we delivered, or what stood us apart. As a design business, I was convinced that it was our design style that made us unique… but even that didn’t feel quite right.

Then, a chance conversation offered up this nugget of gold: ‘the most valuable part of working with you wasn’t the brand design, but the confidence the design gave me’.

This changed everything and turned my perception of our business on its head. All of a sudden we were no longer trading logos and colour palette, but something far more powerful: we were trading confidence.

Confidence, I realised, was something every business owner craves, but few have. And it made for a far more compelling sales pitch – one that none of our competitors were trading on.

No longer was our sales pitch about how many logo variations we delivered – in fact, we barely spoke about design at all. Instead, it was about what the design enabled.

The lesson here was that our clear deliverable – design – was not our currency. It was something else completely.
