A new chapter of regional connectivity begins.

The inauguration of the Pukpuk Subsea Cable marks a strategic milestone in strengthening Eastern Indonesia’s role in the global digital ecosystem, opening new international routes, expanding digital access, and positioning Jayapura as an emerging gateway to the world.

Through the collaboration between Telin and PNG DataCo, Pukpuk becomes the first cross-border cable system in the Asia-Pacific region to directly connect Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The initiative not only strengthens connectivity resilience in Eastern Indonesia through an alternative international route, but also opens new digital corridors connecting Jayapura to Papua New Guinea, Manado, and onward to Los Angeles through the SEA-US cable system.

Beyond infrastructure, Pukpuk reflects a shared commitment to advancing regional collaboration, accelerating digital transformation, and creating broader opportunities across the Asia-Pacific digital ecosystem.
