The EU AI Act came into force on Sunday. So, the obvious question is: are you actually compliant now?

Can you identify where AI was used? Prove which version was approved? Confirm the right marking or disclosure is in place? Show where the content was published?

If the honest answer is “not entirely”, you are probably not alone. But the deadline has passed, so it is worth finding out quickly.

Our latest article explains what Article 50 means for content and creative teams, where the biggest workflow gaps tend to hide and what you should review now.

Article 50 applies from 2 August 2026. Learn what the EU AI Act’s AI content transparency rules mean for Marketing, Creative, Legal, IT and Content Operations teams.

The EU AI Act’s Article 50 rules apply from 2 August 2026. The potential fine is up to 3% of worldwide annual turnover. (That's a lot of money to lose because nobody knows what the agency did to version 37!)

But will it affect you?

Our latest article asks the three (simple) questions every content and creative team should answer to help ensure AI Act readiness.

Because, once content starts moving between teams, agencies, editors, partners and platforms, the useful info has a habit of disappearing, and if your AI audit trail lives across email threads, spreadsheets and the memory of somebody who is currently on holiday, that is really not a compliance workflow... Best to check 😉

⚠️ US & UK Teams ⚠️ It's not just a European problem: you're also at risk if your AI-enabled content is used in the EU. You should check too!

As video libraries grow, reuse becomes harder — not easier.
That’s not a governance issue.

It’s not a storage issue.

It’s a search issue.

The uncomfortable truth is that digital asset management was never built to surface meaning inside video.

In this blog, we explore why metadata breaks down for enterprise video and what changes when search operates at the moment level.

Enterprises invest millions in creating video content. The challenge isn't creating more content; it's making sure every asset is compliant, approved and ready to be reused.

When content isn't operationally ready, it leads to unnecessary rework, higher production costs and missed opportunities to maximise the value of existing content.

In our latest blog, we explore the hidden cost of video wastage and how AI, automation and compliance workflows help enterprises increase content ROI.

When everyone is creating, editing and adapting video, the problem isn't where the file lives. It's whether the workflow around it can keep up.

Finding content is only one part of the challenge. Review, approvals, compliance, version control and getting content ready for use are often where teams lose the most time.

That's why modern video DAM is about more than managing assets. It's about building workflows that help teams move faster, collaborate better and get more value from the content they already have.

Our latest blog looks at what modern video DAM workflows should look like. Read it here: https://www.overcasthq.com/blog/video-dam-workflows/

We're back from DAM Europe, and we’ve just published our DAM Europe 26 Field Report, based on everything we heard across the stand, the sessions, our VIP dinner, and more than a few corridor conversations.

Practical AI came up constantly. So did automation, supplier complexity, compliance, and the growing challenge of video. But the clearest takeaway was this: DAM is no longer just about the library. The real pressure now sits around it:

• Before the DAM: how content arrives.
• Inside the DAM: whether it can be found, trusted, and governed.
• After the DAM: how quickly it can move into approval, compliance, localisation, campaigns, and channels.

That’s where DAM teams are heading next: less abstract discussion about AI and more practical focus on the workflows around the library.

Thanks to Henry Stewart Events for putting on another great event, and to Sandra Sundbäck Sundback and Dan Germain for joining us on stage for a great session.

A great session at DAM Europe today!

It was fantastic to share the stage with Sandra Sundbäck from SOK and Dan Germain from TwelveLabs to discuss how DAM is evolving from content libraries to content intelligence.

One thing was clear from the discussion: organisations are no longer asking how to manage more content. They're asking how to make content more discoverable, reusable, governed, and ready to deliver business value.

Thanks to everyone who joined the session and shared their thoughts. The conversations don't stop here — we're looking forward to continuing them at Booth 16.

DAM Europe starts tomorrow.

Over the last few years, we've seen the conversation evolve from asset management to something much bigger: content intelligence, content operations, and business performance.

As content volumes continue to grow, organisations are asking new questions:
-> How quickly can we find the right content?
-> How do we ensure compliance at scale?
-> How do we get more value from existing content?
-> How do we move from creation to activation faster?

We're looking forward to discussing these challenges with the DAM community over the next two days.

We'll discuss how SOK is approaching content intelligence, governance, reuse and operational readiness at scale - and why these capabilities are becoming increasingly important as content volumes continue to grow.

If you're attending DAM Europe, we'd love to see you there.
