Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is set for a major payout as Dangote Cement prepares to distribute one of its largest dividends, reinforcing the earnings strength of his industrial empire.

The Nigerian billionaire, worth $32.8 billion according to Bloomberg, is expected to receive about N659.2 billion, or $490 million, from his 86.82 percent stake in the Lagos-listed cement producer.

The payment forms part of a N759.3 billion dividend, including a final payout of N45 per share, with shareholders scheduled to receive funds on July 2. The distribution follows a strong year, with profit after tax rising to N1.02 trillion and revenue climbing 20.27 percent to N4.31 trillion.

Dangote Cement’s 55 million tonnes capacity across Africa, anchored by Obajana and Ibese plants, continues to support regional demand and exports, while investments in energy and refining broaden Dangote’s growth strategy.
