IAM is moving fast. But the basics are still where many organizations struggle.

That was one of our main takeaways from last week’s European Identity and Cloud Conference 2026 in Berlin.

AI is making access decisions more dynamic and risk-based. Identity is moving closer to the center of security. And identity fabric architectures are gaining attention as organizations look for more flexibility and scale.

Still, the familiar IAM questions remain:
🔸 Who owns access?
🔸 Is the data good enough?
🔸 Are governance processes clear?

We also had the chance to meet up with our partner Elimity to discuss these topics, and where identity governance is heading.
