What does the future of underwater autonomy look like when vehicles can “see” in real time, even when cameras cannot?
At the International Marine Robotics and Autonomy Workshop, hosted by SINTEF Ocean, Water Linked showcased how compact real-time 3D sonar can support the next generation of marine robotic systems.
During the workshop, our Sonar 3D-15 was demonstrated as part of a live setup with a Blueye X3, mapping ladders, pipes, and moving underwater vehicles in SINTEF’s water laboratory.
The key message from the day was:
Autonomy depends on reliable perception.
As ROVs, AUVs, and marine robotic platforms take on more complex missions, they need to understand their surroundings in real time, especially in darkness, turbidity, and poor visibility.
We are excited to contribute to this development by making advanced underwater perception more compact, practical, and accessible.

Tthe need for reliable underwater perception is growing rapidly. For Water Linked, the event was an opportunity to demonstrate how compact, real-time 3D sonar can support this development.
