Artur Skowronski and Tomasz Lelek spent a year figuring out which engineering practices actually survive when AI models rotate every quarter.
They wrote it down. You can download it.

As a proud sponsor of this year's GeeCON, we’re still buzzing from the energy of the community and the high-level technical exchanges that took place both on and off the stage last week.
We were especially thrilled to have two of our experts share their unique perspectives on the future of engineering:
Artur Skowroński challenged the status quo of "boring" AI demos with "Gemini Plays Final Fantasy".
Adam Warski tackled the "luck" factor in multi-threading with "Concurrency testing on the JVM".
Beyond the sessions, the highlight for us was definitely the conversations at the VirtusLab booth. Huge thanks to the organizers and all the speakers for a stellar lineup. See you at the next one! ✌️

"Human in the loop is not a fallback position. In insurance, it is a design decision. The question is not whether to involve human judgment, but knowing precisely where it belongs and where it does not. The firms getting this right are the ones with the clearest thinking about the boundary." Do you agree?

What does it actually take to write a book on AI when the landscape shifts every quarter?

At our June 2nd panel, Artur Skowroński and Tomasz Lelek will talk through how to pick a topic that survives the hype cycle, what reputable publishers like Manning are genuinely looking for, and how to keep writing when the subject keeps moving.

Plus the engineering side: where AI earns its place in enterprise SDLC and where it creates new technical debt.

One pattern that keeps showing up across enterprise AI codebases: the tools that help the most at individual contributor level are often the ones that create the most friction at team scale.

Artur and Tomasz explore why in Vibe Engineering, and they will be talking through it in person at our June 2nd panel.

The panel is one part of June 2nd. The other part is the room.

After the talk, we are staying for drinks and the kind of conversations that tend not to happen in Slack. Engineers, engineering leaders, and people thinking seriously about what AI-assisted development actually looks like at scale.

Did you audit whether your data was actually built for a machine to navigate — without hand-holding?

The models are selected. The use cases are scoped. The board has been updated. The budget is spent.

What didn't happen: anyone checked the data underneath.

Not because it doesn't exist. Because it was never structured for discoverability. Siloed sources, undocumented schemas, access controls bolted on after the fact. These aren't edge cases. They're the norm.

We've seen it across dozens of enterprise environments. The investment gets approved. Then someone goes looking for the data to power it and finds a swamp.

Thursday, May 28 at 5pm at TECH WEEK by a16z, we're running two focused talks as part of Boston Tech Week — hosted by VirtusLab, with technology leaders from organizations including ZoomInfo in the room.

If you're a founder, CTO, data architect, or the person who actually owns this problem inside your organization, this is the conversation that doesn't happen at vendor events.
