Code - Connect - Inspire in the AI Agents era - this was the main theme of this year's geecon conference. And we loved it! 🧡

We were on stage, we were in the expo zone, and if you would like to read what we remembered the most, read the first-hand report on ➡️ https://blog.allegro.tech/2026/05/geecon-2026-recap.html

geecon 2026 - a recap on ➡️ https://blog.allegro.tech/2026/05/geecon-2026-recap.html

Our Senior Software Engineer, Małgorzata Karmazyn, went to GeeCON expecting a slow decline. Instead, she found a conference that felt genuinely made by engineers for engineers.🔥

Highlights from the two days in Krakow: Dylan Beattie opening with a live FizzBuzz rock performance in his own programming language Rockstar. A practical breakdown of why AI agents slow you down if used without guardrails. A deep dive into JVM startup optimizations. Our own Allegro speakers on thread pool queue diagnostics and server-side Swift.

The most interesting part? The closing panel on LLMs was unexpectedly reflective - less hype, more honesty about burnout and interruption-driven development. Turns out, the biggest bottleneck in agentic coding is us.

How did you spend your afternoon last Thursday? At we organized another meetup in the Allegro Tech Talks series, this time focused on 2 topics. 🧠

🔸 Thread Pool and Queue Time: The Bottleneck Even AI Couldn't Find
🔸 AI-First on Allegro's Scale: How Agentic Engine Revolutionized Homepage

All of this was possible thanks to our fantastic speakers, Mateusz Nalepa & Piotr Ceranek, who stepped up to the mic and brought their experience to the stage. 💥

Check out the photo gallery below to see how it went 👇 and if you would like to see what it's like on the other side of Allegro, come and join us on: https://jobs.allegro.eu/job-areas/tech-data/

AI agentization is moving fast, changing not just how we build, but how our teams operate. 🚀 How is AI changing our everyday lives at work and on the internet? Where is the line between delegation and useful AI?

Watch Patrycja Miller (Director, Product & Engineering at Allegro) chat with Jarosław Kuźniar about driving change and implementing AI mindfully. ⬇️

Jak wyglądała 6. Edycja UX Research Confetti w liczbach? 🎊Zobaczcie sami!

📊 UX Research Confetti to:

🔸 1108 zarejestrowanych uczestników, którzy dołączyli do naszej społeczności i śledzili na bieżąco wszytkie informacje o konferencji,

🔸11 680 zł - taką kwotę wspólnie zebraliśmy na cele charytatywne. Dziękujemy za Wasze ogromne serca! ❤️

👀 Coś Was ominęło?

Do zobaczenia! 🎊

Curious about the AI-First approach at Allegro and how Agentic Engine has revolutionized our homepage? Join us in Warsaw tomorrow to hear Piotr Ceranek's presentation during the next event. 🔥

You can book your spot here ➡️ https://app.evenea.pl/event/allegro-tech-talk-49/ and here's some information you should know about the presentation itself:

🔎 The Allegro homepage is a showcase, and underneath it all lies a dynamic ecosystem that conceals a vast configuration. Every day, our editors deal with configuration trees with hundreds or thousands of nodes and fill templates with thousands of JSON lines. In this model, we reached a limit and needed AI to overcome it. In the last year, we made a technological leap. Instead of forcing people to fill out dozens of forms, we implemented ACE (Agentic Engine). As a result, we transitioned from manual content creation to reviewing automatically generated structures. In this presentation, I'll explain how we accomplished this, what obstacles we encountered, and what actually allowed us to achieve our goal.

Thread Pool and Queue Time: The Bottleneck That Even AI Couldn't Find – this is the topic that Mateusz Nalepa (Senior Software Engineer) will discuss on May 21st during the next meetup. 🔥

Check out what Mateusz has to say about his presentation and let us know if you're interested in attending at ➡️ https://app.evenea.pl/event/allegro-tech-talk-49/

🎤 Many different systems behave surprisingly similarly: they operate on threads or thread pools, send HTTP requests in blocking or non-blocking mode, and parse JSON to execute business logic. However, sooner or later they start to slow down – like driving through a city during rush hour, when every street hides another traffic jam. In this talk, we'll look at where queue time occurs in our Thread Pools and how to measure it. Of course, we'll also learn what to do when the wait time is greater than 0. All conclusions come directly from actual production data.

Have you heard of the two schools of TDD? 💻 Here’s a quick breakdown:

👉🏼 The Classical School of TDD – focusing on state verification (the Kent Beck style).
👉🏼 The London School of TDD – focusing on interactions.

Both lead to clean code, but in different ways. Which team are you on?

Full story by Michał Przysucha (Software Engineer at ) with the key differences between stubs, mocks, fakes, spies, and dummies on ➡️ https://blog.allegro.tech/2026/05/two-schools-of-TDD-explained.html
