What do Romania's historical relationship with UNESCO and the birth of Artificial Intelligence have in common? They both celebrate a major 70-year milestone this year!

AI is no longer just a tech buzzword, it is actively reshaping how we learn, work, and build society. That’s why GlobalLogic was honored to participate in the UNESCO Days 2026 conference, hosted at the Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București.

Our very own Romania Business Operations Head, Iustinian Șovrea, joined an elite panel of leaders at the "Education in the Age of Digitalization" international conference. He discussed the shifting expectations for future engineers and how industry and academia must collaborate to prepare professionals for an AI-driven workforce.

Beyond the stage, we love connecting with the community to drive digital transformation forward. Thank you to the UNESCO Chair “Engineering for Society” and Politehnica University of Bucharest for putting together such an impactful event!

We’re thrilled to share that the Moving Challenge, a program started here in Romania in 2018 from a simple idea from our colleagues, has officially expanded to the GlobalLogic teams in all of Europe, Japan, North America, and LATAM.

What started in our local offices is now bringing teams together worldwide to build healthy habits and make a positive impact on the planet. From Romania to the world, we will keep moving for good during the next 6 months of the Moving Challenge program and beyond! 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Our team had a fantastic time connecting with students at career events across Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, and Bucharest. From Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai and Universitatea Tehnica din Cluj-Napoca to the Universitatea din Oradea and Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București, chatting with you was the highlight of our month.

Our Oradea team recently took part in another amazing edition of “Plantăm Speranță,” swapping keyboards for shovels and making a real difference for the environment.

The day was about more than just planting trees, it was about connection. There were plenty of laughs, teamwork, and a well-earned traditional outdoor feast, followed by a lively concert that kept the energy going. 🎶🍲

What made it even more meaningful was having their children join in this year, helping pass on the importance of caring for our planet to the next generation.
