SUNRISE-6G General Assembly Meeting Takes Place in Oulu, Finland
Oulu, Finland, 12-13 May 2026 - The SUNRISE-6G consortium is holding its General Assembly and 5th Plenary Meeting in Oulu, Finland, bringing partners together for two days of technical exchange, project coordination, and strategic planning as the project advances through its final phase.
Hosted by the University of Oulu. The gathering offers consortium partners an important opportunity to review progress across the project’s technical work packages, align on upcoming priorities, and strengthen collaboration toward the delivery of a pan-European 6G experimentation facility.
These meetings and discussions are designed to support alignment across the SUNRISE-6G work plan and ensure that the project’s technical outcomes continue moving toward integration, validation, and future exploitation.
SUNRISE-6G aims to provide a scalable, open, and standards-compliant approach to experimentation and vertical application deployment across a pan-European federation of 6G infrastructures. The project brings together a strong European consortium working on federated testbeds, experimentation tools, AI-driven lifecycle management, and a 6G Library of advanced components and frameworks.
The Oulu meeting comes at an important stage for SUNRISE-6G, as partners continue working toward a sustainable and evolvable 6G experimentation facility that can support cross-domain testing, validation, and vertical application deployment across Europe.
The meeting also strengthens the collaborative spirit of the SUNRISE-6G consortium, enabling partners to exchange insights face-to-face, address integration challenges, and coordinate the next steps needed to deliver impactful results for Europe’s 6G research and innovation landscape.
