Stop guessing what motivates your students to read. Let them tell you.

The Reading Motivation Index™ helps educators look beyond reading ability to better understand why students choose to read, or what may be getting in the way.

More than 20,000 students have already completed the RMI, discovering their unique reader identities while giving educators actionable insights, genre recommendations, family resources, and tools to support stronger reading habits.

Hear from Hugh Burke, former teacher and assistant principal turned Joyful Reading School Success Manager, about how RMI can help you get to know your readers in a whole new way.

Strong literacy instruction gives students tools to read. Regular practice gives them opportunities to put those tools to work.

Our latest blog explores how schools can make independent reading part of a shared literacy strategy through choice, access, clear goals, and encouragement.

See how Horry County Schools put that approach into practice, with 85% of K–12 students participating and more than 67 million pages logged in the first year of Rise With Reading.
