Term-LAB began in 1999 with Wayne Harris' vision to create a better way to measure sound pressure level in car audio.
As competitors continued to push the limits of SPL, traditional microphone technology could no longer provide the accuracy and consistency the industry needed. Wayne recognized the challenge and set out to solve it.
In 2003, Term-LAB Sensor Technology was introduced at CES, replacing conventional microphone elements with an advanced pressure sensor designed specifically for extreme SPL environments. The result was accurate, repeatable measurements that helped redefine competitive car audio.
That innovation earned recognition at the CES Innovations Design & Engineering Showcase and laid the foundation for the measurement platform trusted by professional sound-off organizations worldwide.
