Growth is supposed to be a good problem to have. But for Orange Barrel Media, every new smart city kiosk added another layer of network complexity.

The company operates nearly 900 interactive kiosks across the U.S., helping people navigate cities, find transit information and access public Wi-Fi.

Behind the scenes, however, connecting those kiosks meant managing static IP addresses, manual configurations and devices exposed to the public internet.

And the obvious fix? A traditional VPN wasn't practical with the company's existing network architecture.

Working with us, Orange Barrel Media found another way to connect its growing network. Today, nearly 600 kiosk sites connect privately, and a setup process that once took 7–8 minutes now takes a single click.

Our own booth at TD SYNNEX Inspire was just the beginning... as Ericsson Cradlepoint solutions also made appearances with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Panorama, and TD SYNNEX Public Sector.

We really got around! Different partners. Different applications. Lots of ways to put enterprise wireless to work. 💪

We even got an unexpected opportunity to demonstrate cellular resilience when a wired connection gave Extreme Networks some trouble. Nothing like a real-world use case right on the show floor!

A great week connecting with the reseller community and the partners who help bring our solutions to customers. Thanks for the conversations, collaboration, and good times!

A port that constantly changes can't afford a network that's stuck in place. 🏗️ At the Port of Tyne in the UK, frequent site reconfigurations made traditional underground cabling increasingly restrictive. The port needed connectivity that could adapt as quickly as its operations.

Working with BT and Ericsson, the port deployed a Private 5G network to support:

• Automated container inspections using cameras and AI
• Real-time tracking of vehicles and equipment
• AI-powered safety monitoring
• Smart gates that automate vehicle identification

By running 4G and 5G concurrently, the port can also support existing devices while introducing new capabilities.

The project recently earned recognition in TeckNexus' Private Networks Awards, giving us another reason to share how the Port of Tyne is putting private wireless to work.
