Fathom is developing AI tools to detect marine life in underwater footage, and we're looking for a small group of people who know their marine species to help us improve our training data. 🌊
If you have experience identifying marine animals through diving, marine biology, research, fieldwork, or underwater photography, we'd love to hear from you.
Our current review workflow lets reviewers examine real underwater imagery, check detections, add human annotations, and flag uncertain frames. We're working toward broader species detection and want knowledgeable contributors involved as the project develops.
Have original underwater photos or footage? Operate an underwater camera? We'd be interested in hearing about that, too.
We're gathering interest now and will onboard contributors gradually as review capacity expands.
