Summer is our slower time, it is also a great time to bring your laptop or desktop in for standard maintenance. • Clean Peripherals: Wipe down your monitor with a microfiber cloth and clean debris from your keyboard and mouse.
• Backup Data: Ensure your critical files are syncing to an external drive or cloud service (e.g., Backblaze or OneDrive). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Monthly
• Uninstall Unused Programs: Navigate to your settings (Apps/Add or Remove Programs) and remove software you no longer use.
• Browser Maintenance: Clear your web browser cache and cookies to improve browsing speeds.
• Check Startup Programs: Disable non-essential background applications that launch when you turn on your computer to improve boot times.
• Clean Ports & Vents: Use compressed air gently on USB, HDMI, and charging ports, as well as external cooling vents. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Quarterly
