We tell our clients to evolve... So we did, too. ✨

After 10 years in business, we’ve given our brand and website a bit of a refresh (ok, so the website was more of a completely new look).

The hive icon is sacred DNA (not kidding - Mary Beth wasn’t sold on the name Hive until Sarah showed her the logo). So we kept it, just elevated with sophisticated typography and a moodier palette with nods to our OG pink and orange. Our updated brand served as the foundation for our new website that we’re kind of obsessed with.

To everyone who has chosen us, trusted us, and kept coming back over the past decade, thank you. We promise we’re still the same Hive, just got a new fit.

After a packed day of learning, we headed over to House of Blues for the SMMW networking party and some very impressive live-band karaoke! 🎵🌴

Two of our bees, Aino and Dori, went cross-country last week to Anaheim, CA, for Social Media Marketing World! ✈️

SMMW is the industry’s largest social media marketing conference, and Day 1 did not disappoint. Between workshops on email marketing, conversion rates, and message design, they came home with pages of notes and more than a few lightbulb moments. 💡

By 2016, Sarah and Mary Beth had each been running their own businesses for years — and while the independence was great, the solopreneur grind gets old. They missed having someone to share the highs with, commiserate through the lows, and just build something with. So they did.

Hive started on a couch, dogs at their feet, with a pretty simple vision: a small, talented team, a real office, and work worth being proud of. A decade later? That's just Tuesday.

Hive has grown into a team of skilled, dynamic women whose diverse backgrounds and perspectives make the work sharper, smarter, and more creative. Sarah and Mary Beth brought the best of their combined agency, freelance, and startup experience to build something rooted in self-expression, big ideas, honest collaboration, and real trust: a place where brave ideas get a seat at the table, feedback goes both ways, and balance is treated like the necessity it actually is.

New work just dropped. 🌿

We had the pleasure of building the new digital home for Matthews Development Company, a full-service real estate development consulting and project management firm that brings serious expertise and genuine care to every project they touch.

From the jump, we knew this one had to *feel* like them. That meant digging into their brand: the history, the values, the kind of quiet confidence that comes from decades of delivering on complex capital projects. We developed a brand strategy that honored all of that, then let it guide every decision that followed.

On the design side, we built an experience that's immersive without being overwhelming: intuitive flows, purposeful layouts, and a visual language rooted in MDC's deep earth tones and stunning project photography. Every section was designed to tell a piece of their story.

Then we brought it all to life in WordPress — a site that's as polished under the hood as it looks on the surface.
