Six months until the Title II web accessibility deadline. 📅

Under the U.S. Department of Justice's Title II rule, state and local government websites, apps, and documents must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA by April 26, 2027 for entities serving 50,000 or more people, and by April 26, 2028 for smaller entities and special districts.

Same website. A second jury. Another award.

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas website, used by more than 2 million Texas educators, retirees, and beneficiaries, has received a Silver W3 Award in the General Websites – Government – State category of the 2026 W3 Awards. The honor follows the site's WebAward from the Web Marketing Association in September, making it the second recognition this year. Congratulations to the TRS team on both honors.

Promet Source designed and developed the site on Drupal around the tasks members come to complete. Screen-reader support, keyboard navigation, and WCAG 2.1 AA as the design standard help members manage their accounts with the tools they already use. Residents are asking AI first. Your content shapes the answer.

Pew Research Center found that 42% of U.S. adults use AI chatbots to search for information (February 2026). Those tools build their responses from what agencies publish, so current pages written in plain language help residents get accurate answers.

One agency avoided a search bill nearly four times higher.

More than 53% of web traffic in 2025 was automated, according to the Thales 2026 Bad Bot Report. On one government Drupal site, Google and Bing crawled every filter combination in a library built for board members, pushing SearchStax usage to roughly 4 million requests against a 2.5 million plan. The client's team blocked search engines from that library, and usage fell to a pace of about 110,000 a month, which kept the client off a tier costing nearly four times as much 📉
