🚨 Regarding the PHP security alert:

On 21 October, the PHP team released emergency updates for two critical vulnerabilities, nicknamed PHP2Shell. PHP powers a large share of the web, including many event, registration and membership sites.

So what does it mean for your meetings? A meeting is a data ecosystem: unpublished research, personal details, peer-review scores and sponsor data. Every vendor and microsite in your setup is part of your security perimeter, and one unpatched system can put attendee trust at risk.

At CTI, our Cloud Operations team acted promptly and applied the recommended mitigations across the cOASIS platform as soon as the advance notice appeared. This is how we approach security every day: we monitor, shield, patch, verify and communicate, not only when it makes the news.

Three quick checks you can do this week:

✔️ List every web property connected to your event, including old microsites
✔️ Ask each vendor whether they run PHP and have applied the October 21 updates
✔️ Confirm your own website host has updated PHP itself, not just the CMS
