Big Google Search Console update‼️

GSC now lets you view performance insights for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and X directly within Search Console!

P.S. It doesn't do this by default; you need to go into GSC and manually verify each property.

GA4 Tip: There's now a default channel grouping in Google Analytics for "AI Assistant" traffic; however, make sure you're also checking for referral traffic and other sources, because it's just one way GA4 reports on AI referrals.

You can test this yourself by going to your Google Analytics > Acquisition> Traffic acquisition > filter by Session source / medium > Search "chatgpt"

Your Google Analytics won't tell you that a competitor was mentioned 15 times across high-intent ChatGPT queries while your company was only mentioned twice.

When someone asks ChatGPT or Gemini for vendor recommendations, they get a direct answer. If you're not in the recommendation set, there's no click, no impression, no session. Nothing shows up anywhere.

Rankings, traffic, and conversions still matter. But they only measure what happens after a prospect reaches search results. A growing share of buying research never gets that far.

We've launched our AI Command Center, a tool we built for our clients that tracks how their company shows up when people search for their products or services on AIs like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude 📊

In practice, we're able to assess when someone asks an AI something like "Who are the best companies in Chicago for [service]?" and whether our client shows up. If not, why not, and what would it take to change that?
