A conversation about women, wealth, and the future of economic power.

At GrowTECH FEST 2026💚, we welcomed Darcy Totten, Executive Director of the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, for her Visionary Voices session, “Women, Wealth, and the Great Transfer: Reshaping Power in a Transforming Economy.”

With an estimated $84 trillion expected to change hands over the next 20 years, Darcy explored the opportunities this historic wealth transfer creates for women to influence investment, ownership, and economic systems.

The conversation highlighted an important question: As women's economic power continues to grow, how can we create more opportunities for women to build, lead, invest, and shape what comes next?

At GrowTECH FEST 2026, we had the opportunity to recognize ChicoSTART’s Innovation Grant Awardees and celebrate the early-stage entrepreneurs working to bring new ideas, products, and solutions to life.

Through funding made possible by the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) and the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBank), these awardees are advancing their ventures through proof-of-concept development, initial research and development, prototyping, and other critical early-stage activities.

We were honored to welcome Clair Whitmer, Deputy Director of CalOSBA within the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, to the stage to shake hands with our awardees and recognize their entrepreneurial journeys.

These grants represent more than funding. They represent an investment in bold ideas, local innovation, and the future of entrepreneurship in the North State. Congratulations to our Innovation Grant Awardees!

At GrowTECH FEST 2026, keynote speaker Victor Hwang, Founder & CEO of Right to Start, challenged us to rethink the idea that innovation belongs exclusively to Silicon Valley.

In his keynote, “Why the Next Great Startup Wave Belongs to the North State,” Victor explored how communities like ours can turn overlooked talent into entrepreneurial opportunity. By investing in local founders, building stronger startup ecosystems, and connecting entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed, the North State has the potential to help shape the next generation of great companies.
