Picture this. You’re a college student, and your school has strict rules about using AI on assignments. Then after an exam, you reportedly see your professor’s AI prompts on the classroom projector.

That’s what students at Trinity University say happened in a biology class. The professor says he didn’t use AI to write the exam, only to refine two class presentations. Students still want to know why the rules seem to apply to them more than to faculty.

The university is now exploring a way to show students how much AI a course uses before they register.

In a season 5 episode of Parks and Rec, Chris fires both employees in Pawnee's animal control department for being terrible at the job. Leslie and her committee start looking for a replacement.

When the applications come in, there's a problem. The only two people who applied are the two people they just fired.

Entry-level jobs don't feel entry-level anymore, and that's becoming a real problem for college students entering the workforce.

CNBC recently told the story of Rachel Grandis, a 22 year old Elon University grad with a degree in strategic communications. Five years creating content for her school's athletic department, social media management for the business school, multiple marketing internships, restaurant and summer camp jobs. Still couldn't land a full-time position.

She's not the only one. A Cengage survey of 1,100 recent grads found that 77% believe employers are asking for too much experience at the entry level, and 53% have decided not to apply to jobs in their own field because they felt underqualified.

How are new graduates supposed to get the experience employers want, if the jobs they're applying for already require them to have it? Comment your thoughts.

Mateo from Superstore believed he was perfect for the floor supervisor job. He didn't get picked.

So Mateo did what felt right to him. Started acting like the supervisor anyway. Bossing people around, telling coworkers he was already in charge.

It's a great bit, and honestly, it points at something real. When there's no clear process for filling an open role, somebody's going to fill that gap on their own, whether they're actually the right person or just the loudest one in the room.

A real process, post the role, let the team apply, let the evaluation actually be structured, means the right person gets picked. Not just whoever puts their own picture on the wall first.

Remember the Brown professor who thought his class was cheating with ChatGPT and switched his final to in-person and closed-book? He's not done.

This semester, he's adding an oral exam, with we**am software built by Brown's engineers that can catch a student looking at another screen instead of the camera.

His take is simple. AI can help, but he's not letting technology drive while humans sit in the backseat.

Candidates are using AI to beat hiring systems. Employers are using AI to beat the candidates using AI. Somehow, nobody's winning.

Wired called this the AI hiring doom loop. Resumes get scanned by an ATS before a person sees them, so candidates use AI to beat the scan, and employers use AI to catch that and filter it out. Now it's AI versus AI, with neither side any closer to good hiring.

AI isn't the problem. It's already part of hiring. The real opportunity is making it more honest for everyone, not just harder to game.
