Oh, how the styles have evolved!

STORY TIME.

When we sold the house 6 years ago and moved to the country, things got sort of tossed here, there & everywhere.

Since then, we’ve added onto the house & more storage space has become available.

My daughter finally found some time to sift through the mess of her closet — the closet where we basically stuffed everything since we didn’t have much for storage space at the time. It was definitely time.

We’ve managed to uncover the holy grail of where my design career began. THIS… is the very first promotional item I ever designed. I was hired by Fireball Decals in Centerville, SD that fall after graduation. They had a long-standing partnership with Mustang, later known as Gehl, designing the decals & graphics for their skid loaders.

My job was to create a koozie design for a large meeting they had.

As you can see, design has come a long way since then. And I’m thankful for the opportunity to hire a ‘fresh outta college’ kid.

Recently started a page for our small farm. As I’ve been photographing for posts, something occurred to me.

As a graphic designer by trade, I’ve realized many of my home purchases are actually made based off of the font style & layout design!

Here are some photos from my kitchen as a prime example.

This leads me to question my designer friends — do you purchase items based solely on font preference? 🧐

Here’s a garage banner I did for a friend recently. Her hubby is into motorcycles & she had an idea of what she sort of wanted. Thus, I was able to bring her idea to life!

Looks B.A.!
