The decisions families make about aging can have a significant impact on their financial plan.
Where someone lives. When to bring in care. Whether to keep driving. How to pay for changing needs. These decisions can affect a family's finances, sometimes in ways they did not anticipate.
That is why aging in place is an important conversation for financial advisors, as well as the families they serve.
In our latest bQuest webinar, our Director of Content, Allison Foulk, moderated a conversation with Ian Dorfman of Elder Care Homecare, Jack Angel Senior Care Authority of Southeast Texas, and Meredith Eden of The Hummingbird Project - Quality of Life Engagement Program about some of the decisions that come with aging in place, including:
• Bringing in the right support while preserving independence
• Planning for transportation before giving up driving becomes an urgent decision
• Making sure home safety does not come at the expense of connection and quality of life
For advisors, these conversations can help surface needs that may not come up in a traditional financial planning meeting and create opportunities to connect clients with the right care and aging resources before a crisis occurs.
We opened this webinar to the public because these are conversations worth having with anyone planning for their own future or supporting someone they love, and in celebration of our nomination for Thought Leadership.
