On May 13th, 14 Shentel team members worked at Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to help pack backpacks for the Summer Backpack Program. They successfully packed 900 bags and boxes of food to support local children who are experiencing food insecurity across the Virginia Peninsula area, including Williamsburg, James City County, and York County. We also presented them with a check for $4000 from our Summer Backpack donation program. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with local organizations to help fight food insecurity and give back to the communities we serve.

According to Mark D. from West Virginia, these three items below all make up what Shentel internet service is all about.

After getting his new home set up with service, Mark shared his review with us: “When I give the Shentel gentleman, Matt, who came to my family's new home on May 25, 2026, an ‘A+, 5 Big Gold Stars, and a blue ribbon at the county fair’ for customer servicin’, I’m givin’ a frank and honest opinion.”

That’s the kind of local service we’re proud to deliver every day.

Recently, our West Virginia team was proud to volunteer at Mountaineer Food Bank, where 11 employees, guided by the Shentel Cares Committee, worked together to make a difference. In a single day, the team packed over 300 boxes of food for families in need. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with local organizations to help fight food insecurity and give back to the communities we serve. We returned on May 27 to present their check for $4000 which included contributions from Shentel employees, and our partners.

Giving back is at the heart of what we do.

On May 28, 15 members of the Shentel and Glo Fiber team volunteered with Farm to School Frederick at Glade Link Farms as part of our Shentel Caring Day initiative. Guided by the Shentel Cares Committee, our team spent the day picking dozens of buckets of strawberries that will be distributed to local children and families through area schools in the coming days.

We were also honored to present Farm to School Frederick with a $4,000 donation made possible through contributions from Shentel employees and partners.

We're grateful for the opportunity to support organizations making a meaningful difference in our communities and helping address food insecurity for local families. Thank you to Farm to School Frederick for the incredible work you do every day.

Some rooms just weren't built for WiFi. 📶 Here are the most common dead zones in your home — and why they happen:

1. Basements: signals have to push through flooring and structural supports
2. Garages: thick insulation and separation from the main home do the damage
3. Back bedrooms: too far from the router, especially in long or L-shaped homes
4. Kitchens: fridges and microwaves are sneaky signal disruptors
5. Outdoor patios or decks: exterior walls and distance put them just out of reach

Knowing where your signal struggles is the first step toward a stronger, more reliable connection throughout your whole home.
